I was so excited the day B'Sue accepted me to join this swap although my blog was just an intention in my mind at the time. Her generous and welcoming spirit gave me the push and the moral support I needed to birth my first blog and my brand -new Etsy shop- Gemrose.
Since them I have participated in my first earring swap as well and I am having the time of my life!
Unfortunately, I fell behind timewise in creating my piece for this blog hop (damnn that day job!) but I am 90% complete in my Sari Ribbon design- so here it is with some creative picture-taking- (please allow for the learning curve associated with digital macro photography!)
I designed a bracelet with 2 pieces of beautiful sari ribbon courtesy of B'Sue, of course. I added some deeply colored round beads I obtained at a Beadfest probably 2 years ago, 18 gauge copper wire, copper chain from Michaels and an awesome handmade copper ring from Barbara Lewis' Painting with Fire. I wire-wrapped the 2 pieces of ribbon together and hung a larger bead from the center of that strand of the bracelet. Everything is done except the actual joining of the three "strands", but I think you can get the idea of where I am going with this. I intend to use the ring as a toggle closure- just searching through my stash for the second linear part of the toggle or I may fire-torch enamel some copper wire this weekend to use as the second component of the toggle. Love Barbara Lewis's new book!
Enjoy your blog-hopping- I am off to hop along myself now!!
